Kansas City!


I have begun my career! Since September, I am residing in Kansas City, and have begun getting my name in the mix.  I have been fortunate to be a part of some wonderful productions, and work with some fantastically talented people.  So far I have been working as the resident designer at the Metropolitan Ensemble Theater, as well as doing several productions at the American Heartland Theatre.  Things are finally picking up!


Shannon Smith is a third year MFA student in costume/scenic design at Ohio University. She received her BFA in 2008 from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS. Her recent credits include costume design for Ohio University’s production of Loves Labours Lost, costume design for WSU’s productions of: Hair, and The Wild Party, Wichita Center for the Arts productions of; Hayfever, Crimes of the Heart, and Romeo and Julliet. She has also coordinated costumes for Music Theatre of Wichita’s production of All Shook Up. Scenic design for OU’s production of The Wonderful World of Dissocia which was selected to be part of the USITT Praque Quadrenial display. She has recently completed an internship in NYC with Martin Pakledinaz working on The Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Anything Goes.
